The PokeGear phone works largely as it did in the original Crystal, though it now has enough slots to collect all phone numbers. Some key contacts now provide additional information.

While many phone calls are conversational, trainers whose numbers you have registered may also challenge you to rematches, share items, or provide useful information. The list below categorizes those contacts accordingly. Some trainers are in multiple categories because they provide more than one of these benefits.
